ADULT SWIM LESSONS

You’re never too old to learn to swim! Check your inhibitions at the door and come learn and laugh with other adults in a group setting. Independent consultations will be held to assure proper progression. Class ratio is 1:4. See registration and fee information on page 10.

COACHED ADULT LAP

A coached workout for adults looking for an alternative to lap swim. This program accommodates all levels from fitness swimmer to elite swimmer. Stroke technique, videotaping, race strategy and a good solid workout are emphasized. This is a year-round training program whether you want to compete or just get a good workout.

AQUA FIT

Water classes which include low, moderate or high intensity aerobic activity, deep water exercise and resistance training using water dumbbells, noodles and kick-boards. Current monthly schedules available at the Welcome Center Desk. All levels are welcome in any class. However, the 11 a.m. class is most appropriate for seniors and pre/postnatal mothers.

CPR – GROUP OR WORKPLACE

American Heart Association adult, pediatric and heart saver two-year certification and recertification course. CPR instructors are available to teach classes for private groups at the YMCA or at your place of business. For more information, contact the YMCA.

NOON BALL

This lunch-hour pickup league provides a fun, healthy alternative to a heavy lunch for adults 18 & up.

RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL

Recreational volleyball for beginner to intermediate players
ages 16 & up who want to have fun.

CLIMBING WALL

Come climb Mt. Y our state-of-the-art climbing wall. The 28-foot wall features a totally natural, seamless rock face with climbing routes set for beginners and advanced climbers. Indoor rock climbing has become one of the most popular and effective ways to improve your physical and mental fitness as well as to prepare you for or extend your season of outdoor climbing. Group rentals of Mt. YMCA are also available for birthday parties, school groups, corporate fun days, or other special occasions. All climbers will be required to complete the beginner indoor climbing class or pass a Mt. YMCA competency test.

HEALTH & WELLNESS ORIENTATION

An orientation to the Health & Wellness Center equipment is recommended for all new members before beginning an exercise program. Appointments can be made at the Health & Wellness Desk.

SHORT CIRCUIT - 30 MINUTE WORKOUT

Here is a way to “express” your workout when your time is limited. After a brief warmup, move from one exercise to the next every 60 seconds using the Cybex Multi-station. Total workout time is 30 minutes. This workout is available at any time of the day. Please see the Health & Wellness Center staff for assistance.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Experienced certified personal trainers are available to help you commit to a healthier lifestyle. Your personal trainer will assess your fitness needs and design an individual program specifically for you, as well as motivate you every step of the way. Please inquire about prices at the Health & Wellness Desk.

ACTIVE ALLIES BOOT CAMP

This class is designed to push you and your workout buddy to the limit. Think about how good you will feel after completing a challenging fun-packed, relationship-building session. Enlist with a partner or let the YMCA help you make a new friend. All levels welcome.

RACE TRAINING CLUB & TRI-CLUB

This is a great way to prepare for a triathlon—or the YMCA’s 36th annual Riverbank Run! Meet training partners with similar goals. All levels welcome.

Most group exercise classes are included in your membership. Attend as many classes each week as you like and design a fitness schedule that will work for you. Some classes are offered seasonally, so check the current monthly schedules available at the Welcome Center.

Step class with a few twists and turns—the choreography is fast-paced and fun! (Recommended for intermediate and advanced steppers.)

Aerobic KickBoxing
Interval training that incorporates punches and kicks into one great sweat-inducing workout. Hand-wraps, gloves and bags are provided.

Basic Step
Cardio workout using basic step moves.

Cardio Sculpt
This class keeps you moving as you strengthen and tone.

Core
More than traditional abdominal crunches! Includes planks, back extensor and oblique strengthening exercises.

"Fun" Ctional Families
Increase CORE strength, improve fitness and have fun with your family all at the same time.

Gentile Yoga
A relaxing, peaceful class that focuses on holding poses longer and increasing flexibility faster. Appropriate for seniors, beginners, or a good complement to vigorous athletic training.

Intro Classes (offered periodically)
Learn the basic moves, terminology and patterns that will help prepare you for our step and kickboxing classes. Call us at 721-YMCA (9622) to learn more.

Calorie burning, progressive strength and CORE exercises to rev up your metabolism and prepare your body for life's challenges.

Pilates
Condition your body through this unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed by Joseph H. Pilates.

Pump
This class starts with CORE work followed by strength conditioning designed to “pump” you up.

Race Training Class (Seasonal)
Get in shape for the local fun runs! Program based on current fitness level and 5K/10K distance. Class may include intervals, drills and endurance training. 

Steap Aerobics/Step Plus
The ever-popular step—a fun way to work out for anyone. Step Plus adds bursts of high intensity step or floor drills. Intensity levels are modeled by the instructor. 

Step Interval
A great interval workout that alternates step with other cardio or strength exercises. Abs included.

Studio PALS
This class is designed for Pre/postnatal participants, Active older adults, those looking for Low impact, or those just Starting an exercise program.

Tai Chi
Chinese Kung Fu emphasizing gentle movements focusing on muscle, balance and flexibility.

Tone & Zone (TAZ)\
This non-aerobic class begins with exercises for muscular strength and toning and ends with Pilates.

Trim & Tone (TNT)
Total conditioning, totally awesome! Emphasis on muscular strength and conditioning, flexibility and abdominals.  A variety of equipment will be used.

Yoga
Increase your muscular strength and flexibility, de-stress and fine-tune your body. Yoga is for all fitness levels.

Cycle
Get ready for a fun time and a great workout! Cycling is for anyone who enjoys a group workout to motivating music. All terrain ride—flats and hills. We encourage participants to work at their own pace—all fitness levels welcome. 45 minutes.
