REGISTRATION FEE

There will be a one time fee of $15 payable at the beginning of summer in order to register in summer camps. With this fee campers will receive a camper t-shirt as well as their camper award patch that can be used to collect merit patches obtainable throughout the summer.

CAMPER MERIT PATCHES – “NEW”

This year campers will receive a special camper award patch that will have enough spaces to hold 16 different merit patches obtainable through the various camps offered at the Missoula Family YMCA.  These merit patches will help recognize campers’ achievements as they learn new and different skills throughout the summer.  Look for your child’s camper award patch and see what they have learned at camp this year!

Camp Broken Arrow (Ages 6-9)

Camp Tepeetonka (Ages 10-13)

There are many new and exciting changes taking place this year!  We will still offer campers a variety of activities such as fishing, boating, archery, air rifles, and crafts and much more at the beautiful Trout Meadows Ranch.  The 8 and 9 year-olds will get to experience the excitement and perils of our Amazon Valley Adventure while Tepeetonka campers will enjoy all the above activities as well as rafting and the special week-ending overnight. This summer, each week of Day Camp will have a special theme. Camp Broken Arrow and Camp Tepeetonka truly offer each child an experience to grow and learn at “A Place Like No Other.”

RESIDENT CAMP (Ages 6 – 13)

The Missoula Family YMCA will facilitate one week of resident camp at Helena's beautiful "Camp Child!"  Sign your children up for the incredible opportunity to build strong friendships and have wonderful experiences by spending five days with theirs friends and peers.

KINDERKUBS (Ages 5 & 6, ENTERING OR LEAVING KINDERGARTEN)

This program for younger campers provides an introduction for participants who are not quite old enough or ready for an extended camp experience. Based out of the YMCA, campers will enjoy activities and programs around the YMCA, Missoula area parks and attractions, and weekly visits to camp where they will take their first steps with the YMCA camping program.

Adventure Series

CLIMBING CAMP (Ages 10+)

During this week of camp, we will progress from the basics of knot tying, safety checks and belaying to outdoor climbs on area routes.

Blast off to adventure with Mission to Mars!  Space adventurers combine science with action and discovery.  Activities include a mission simulation, remote model Mars rovers, use of satellite imagery, building rockets, and much more.

BABYSITTING CAMP (Ages 11+)

Gain supervised, firsthand experience at various YMCA childcare sites, furthering your skills as a babysitter. Includes CPR and personal safety information.

SKATE CAMP (Ages 5+)

Hey kids!  Look for this summer’s Skate camps to take place at the YMCA multi-use skate-park. Skateboard and in-line skating camps are offered to give you the skills to really tear it up on the ramps this summer. After camp ends for the day, campers may stay and practice as long as the park is open without additional cost. Campers under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult to skate after camp. Skateboards and skates are not provided.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING/cit (Ages 14+)

Have fun with peers, learn how to be a counselor, and develop great leadership skills while helping camp staff serve our community’s youth. Register for the CIT program and you will be paired with a counselor throughout the session and learn the intricacies of group dynamics while becoming a leader. Participants must apply for this program prior to being accepted, and must attend one of two trainings offered throughout the summer.

Full or Half-day Camps

All-Star Soccer, Flag Football, and Baseball/Softball camps include swimming and snack.
Children need to bring a lunch.

Sports Camps are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with before & after care from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

This summer, the Missoula Family YMCA’s Youth Sports Department will offer 10 exciting sports camp options. YMCA sports camps focus on sportsmanship and teamwork while developing skills to play the games. All sports camps are coed and incorporate the YMCA core values throughout the week. The coaches for sports camps are current and former high school and collegiate athletes.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL CAMP (Ages 6 – 14)

Campers will learn the basic fundamentals of baseball and softball through drills and exercises. Skills in throwing, fielding and batting will be covered. Participants will receive a baseball or softball. Players need to bring a mitt to camp.

This coed camp teaches kids the basic rules and procedures of football as well as sportsmanship and fair play. Each participant will receive a YMCA football.

This camp is geared toward players, ages 6  – 14 who have an “All Star” attitude. With the help of YMCA instructors, they will learn new skills and fun games. Each participant will receive a YMCA soccer ball. Bring a packed lunch, shin-guards, sunscreen and lots of water. Be prepared to have a “kickin” time.

Former college athletes, along with YMCA staff, run this camp. Players learn the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting and passing as well as team play and sportsmanship. Older players work on team concepts and individual skills. Each player receives a YMCA basketball.

ROOKIE SPORTS CAMP (Ages 4 – 6)

This program is especially designed to introduce children ages 4 – 6 to soccer, baseball and basketball, including learning basic skills and orientation to team play, and unique YMCA games. All Rookie-Sport campers will have access to child-sized basketball hoops. Each player will receive a ball.

JUNIOR GOLF (Ages 7 – 14)

This camp exposes young golfers to the game. Rules, etiquette, full swing, pitching, chipping, putting, goals of the game and equipment are all part of the lessons. Instruction is provided by pros from Larchmont Golf Course.

Beginner: 8 – 10 a.m.: Players who are just getting started begin with the basic fundamentals, such as the grip, aiming, and stance, with irons and woods, along with chipping and putting for their short game.

Intermediate: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Kids who have spent time on the range or the course work in more detail with the swing, chipping and putting.

Tumbling camp is the perfect combination of creative movement and learning. Participants develop skills using mats, the parallel bars, the balance beam and the springboard. Safety and fun are emphasized and snacks are provided.
