Since the dawn of time or at least since the dawn of the Missoula Y, Missoula kids have had summer fun, summer growth and summer friendships at Y camp.

Y summer camps as a genre get maximum use out of the Y’s physical plant as well as the local Missoula parks, playfields and surrounding wilds. Y summer kids play hard, laugh hard and learn new skills so that they return to their families happy and perhaps a bit tired.

Some Missoula families depend on Y summer camps to care for their school-age children all day all summer while parents attend to work responsibilities. Other families utilize these camp offerings to provide their children with new opportunities, exposure to new sports or other skills, or just a change of pace with an expanding group of friends. You’ll find Y summer camps in half-day, all-day and all-week-overnight formats to fit your family’s needs and wants.

Last year our summer campers—beyond the laughing and running around with pals—fished, shot bows and arrows, hiked and climbed rock walls; learned and improved their skills on a football field, soccer green and volleyball court; built rockets and studied Mars rovers and satellite imagery; gained expertise and credentials as babysitters/young nannies; made music; learned new board and skate tricks; explored cheerleading and dance.
