Run for a Healthier Missoula
Registration opens January 1, 2027
Start in 1972, the YMCA Riverbank Run is a family-friendly event that is open to all ages and abilities. Choose from the 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, or run all three events in our signature event, the Trifecta (10.321 miles). Strollers and wheelchairs welcome! No pets, please.
Kids 12 and under: Registration for 10K, 5K, and 1 mile is just $15 and includes a race shirt.

All races start at Higgins & Broadway and are chip timed.

Bib, Shirt, & Packet Pickup
Collect your bib, shirt, and packet up at our designated packet pickup days! Racers are strongly encouraged to pick their packets prior to race day.

Reminders
- 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile racers will receive your bib and your race t-shirt at packet pick up prior to race day.
- In-person Trifecta racers will receive commemorative long sleeve shirt at the finish line after the completion of your race.
- Virtual Trifecta racers will receive commemorative long sleeve shirt at packet pick up prior to race day.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to collect packets at packet pickup prior to race day.
Virtual Racers
Virtual racers have until race day to complete their selected race. You have two ways to complete their race:
- Run the traditional course(s)
- Choose your favorite trail or route
Uploading Results
You will need to upload race results by or before race day.
Prizes
Prizes are awarded to the top three male, top three female finishers, and top three non-binary finishers in the 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, and Trifecta races. Prizes are also awarded to the top male, top female, and top non-binary finishers in each age group. (Prizes are awarded for in-person event participants only.)
Top finishers will be contacted when prizes are available for pickup at the YMCA.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male finisher, top female finisher, and top non-binary finisher in each of the following age categories.

Riverbank Run FAQs
The YMCA Riverbank Run takes place in downtown Missoula. All races start at Higgins & Broadway, and end along the Kim Williams across from Caras Park.
We offer four different race options:
- 10K This route takes you through Missoula's midtown before winding through the University of Montana campus.
- Dennis T. Bender 5K Named in memory of a long-time YMCA employee, the Dennis T. Bender 5K takes racers through the beautiful University of Montana campus.
- 1 Mile Fun Run Our most popular race distance for kids and families!
- Trifecta Looking for a challenge? Run all three races (10.321 miles) in our signature event.
Yes. All proceeds benefit the Missoula YMCA's financial assistance program, which provides income-based assistance to individuals and families to ensure everyone can participate in the YMCA's programs and services.
Safety is our number one priority and we kindly ask that pets stay home. Service dogs are welcome.
Yes. Wheelchairs are welcome on the course.
